So as you would have seen in the “Introduce Yourself” forum, my name is Laryssa and besides other things in my life I am a semi professional athlete. I am the starting centre for the Adelaide Phoenix part of the Ladies Gridiron League. We will be making our debut on October 31st playing the Brisbane Blaze at our home ground, city Mazda stadium and televised on Foxtel!! So yeah you could say I have a pretty big goal in mind!!
The LGL uniforms consist of bike shorts and either a crop or singlet showcasing our athletic bodies perfectly! Its no secret that I have come a long away since the birth of my son 2 years ago but I am still working hard to be in peak condition. At this stage I am 12 kilos away from my goal and 6 kilos away from where I want to be on October 31st for our first game!
Unfortunately over the last 8 months I have gained 3.7 kilos, I know part of that is muscle as I have definitely increased lean muscle mass, but I have also gained size and fat. I guess the only thing I can blame is myself and my mindset, I wasn’t ready/needed a break etc…. until now!! So while I am angry at myself for gaining weight, there is no point dwelling on the past, its time to look to the future!
So week 1:
Well what a week, after training camp last weekend and 2 all nighters with my kids, I was down and out, sick, in pain, grumpy, snotty… you name it! But as I said above, my mindset is rock solid and I am ready for this change so while I had 4 days off training, my diet was strict and to the plan! I stuck to my intermittent fasting and really enjoyed the juices and feel that helped with my recovery so needless to say I was super proud when I stepped on the scales on Friday (My weigh in day) and I had lost 1.7kg!!
Great start! Now for week 2, back to training and work and still going strong in the food department!
